HI, I'M ILONA GUIRAUD !
I am an interaction designer currently in Valenciennes, France. I'm in my last year of Master in Interaction Design and have a Bachelor degree in Game Art. In my spare time, I love to travel, play video games, go to museums, see my loved ones and cook.
I have always been empathetic and observant, I spend my life trying to help and understand the problems and vision of the people around me. That's what I love in design, understanding people in order to create solutions that are truly adapted to their needs and that can have a positive impact on their lives. We learn from them, from our colleagues, we are constantly improving professionally and personally, we are always trying to find the best way to reach our goal, we don't limit ourselves to what we have, we go further.
You can reach me on LinkedIn, read my resume, or better yet, shoot me an email at ilonaguiraud@gmail.com.
AN ATYPICAL PATH...
I was born in the world of video games, my parents working in this field, I was literally born with a controller in my hands.
Passionate about art and video games, it seemed obvious to me to go into game art. For me, video games allow you to identify with characters, to be immersed in a universe, and I loved the idea of being able to impact people while entertaining them, and for me this immersion depended a lot on the graphics.
I was always trying to think like the player, "If I didn't know the game, would I...". Slowly I made more and more playtests. I tested and iterated the graphics, until there were no more problems. Over time the playtest became my favorite part.
So when I had the opportunity to go for interaction design, I liked the idea of being able to have a direct impact on the world, to understand people, to discover a new world each time.
I leave Game Art for Interaction Design, and it was the best decision I ever made.
